Flexible Technology

What if you could roll up your iPhone or tablet like a newspaper? Every year we keep seeing more & more advanced technology, but this seems like a great idea. You could mold your phone around your wrist, fold it up for more space, or even save your phone from being shattered to the floor when it is dropped. Here are a few new flexible technology that are in the making:

Samsung Flexible Tablet- Predicted to come out later this year, this phone is able to be rolled up, or bent in half for small spaces. It is ultra-thin and has a transparent AMOLED touchscreen. It can be used as an e-reader, camera, interpreter, and for video chat; it also comes with 3-D display capabilities.

LG EPD E-Reader- This amazing tablet has special ‘flexible e-paper’ that will ‘revolutionize the e-book market,‘ according to LG. This six-inch display can bend up to 40 degrees and is only 0.7 millimeters thick. It can be dropped at 1.5 meters and still work without a scratch. This new e-reader is predicted to come out within the next month or so in Europe.
Atmel XSense- Atmel has created a film-based touch sensor sheet called XSense and can be bent to any shape and still maintain a clear image and touch sensitivity. It is edgeless and claims to have a longer battery life. This revolutionary product is also predicted to be released within the next month or so.

Residence Inn Animals

Mariott’s Residence Inn launched a series of commercials to feature their large and comfortable residence suites. How to do this? Place zoo animals in the suites, of course. This simple concept is very memorable; and definitely communicates the message that these suites are spacious. The big animals, such as the elephant and the giraffe, even have enough room to do as they please. There’s something so lovable about these commercials as well, really giving the feeling that these residences are like home.

Fancy Fire Design

Fire extinguishers in the kitchen are always such an eyesore, but Fire Design has made them something a bit more pleasant to look at. Instead of the usual bright red standard, Fire Design created various graphics and beautiful designs on these fire extinguishers to your liking. So many great designs to choose from, and they are also available for purchase. What do you think of redesigned fire extinguishers? Do you think they’ll still serve their very functional purpose?

Celebrity: A Social Experiment

This is an amazing social experiment, and a pretty good prank! This group went to a mall in Virginia and with a help of a small group of friends, they were able to convince the entire mall that one of the guys in the group was a celebrity. Within 7 minutes, the mall gave them security escorts and in 10 minutes, they started to close down stores! There was such a commotion, the security escorted them down private halls and they had to even shut down their cameras. A great experiment of the bandwagon effect; almost even scary how quickly we act or think based on the majority.
