Print on Fabric with Sunlight

The Lumi Process, is a kickstarter project that allows you to print your photographs directly onto fabric by using sunlight. This process is based on Inkodye, dillutable water-based dyes that develop color when exposed to light. Inkodye gives you numerous artistic opportunities, such as printing true photographic prints instead of half-tone patterns; printing on rough material, as well as delicate material. Currently, there are 3 colors in the starter kit, and an iPhone app is used to help create negatives to start the process. Check out the video to see how it is used, and check out all of the great things you can make with the Lumi Process.

Homage to Alexander McQueen: Gummy Bear Dress

To launch the first edition of TWELV magazine, editor Hissa Igarashi worked with fashion assistant Sayuri Marakumi to recreate Alexander McQueen’s iconic ‘Parrot Dress’…with 50,000 gummy bears. The dress took 3 weeks to make and was first formed out of steel wire and covered with a sheet of vinyl. 50,000 gummy bears were then hand glued to create a rainbow pattern-the result is unbelievable.

A Conversation With My 12-Year Old Self

Have a lost passion or hobby that you used to love when you were a child? Jeremiah McDonald, the blogger of Tell Me To Draw Something, put together a creative sketch of him video chatting with his 12-year old self in attempt to reconnect with his lost passion of drawing. In his new blog, he states:

“Drawing was my first love until the internet starting eating up my time in the mid 90s. Now I’m trying to reconnect with my first love by way of the thing that killed it. Send an email to tellmetodrawsomething@gmail.com and tell me to draw something. I’ll post the drawing here, and if you want the original I’ll mail it to you for the cost of shipping and handling (plus anything you care to donate).”

You can support Jeremiah’s new project and follow his tumblr blog to see how his project is coming along. Quite curious to see how his project goes!
