‘Brand Spirit’ by Andrew Miller

If a branded product was stripped from all of its visual elements, would it still be recognizable? Does it still have meaning to the consumer? What exactly defines a brand? Andrew Miller, a branding, design and communication strategist, is conducting a project in which each day for 100 days, he paints a branded object completely white. This project, which is called ‘Brand Spirit‘ is an interesting experiment that makes it evident how prominent brand awareness is in everyday life. How many of these objects can you recognize as brands in its minimalist form? Which ones seem to lose their identity? You can follow Andrew Miller’s project through this tumblr site.
