Two students, Luke Evans and Josh Lake, from Kingston University, decided to conduct an experiment and swallow 35mm film and allow their digestive system to create the work. After the film strips were ingested, they were excreted in a dark room and washed. Then, they examined the damaged emulsion surface of the film with a scanning electron microscope and then were blown to large-scale black and white prints. Their installation, ‘I Turn Myself Inside Out’ will be on display at Hoxton Gallery in London, UK on June 12th and 13th. An unusual, yet interesting cross between science and art. What do you think of this experimental art series?
