Ebay has partnered with Rebecca Minkoff to create new smart stores in New York and San Francisco. The stores feature massive mirrors that also have touchscreens. These touchscreens allow the shopper to swipe through the store’s inventory and select which items you would like to be placed in your dressing room. When the clothes have been brought to the dressing room a text message gets sent to the shoppers phone.

This whole idea is essentially merging online shopping with still having the physical experience of trying on the clothes.

The dressing rooms also have mirrors with touchscreens, with different settings such as lighting adjustments, and different size/color selections for the items you’ve selected. You can adjust the lighting to see how your outfit would look in different settings. All of the clothes have special tags in them called RFID tags. These tags allow the dressing room to recognize which item you are trying on, allowing it to make suggestions for matching accessories, and helps it recognize if the store has that item in a different size/color in stock.
